What will the schedule be like for this trip experience?

 

The trip will be from July 19-25, 2020.  The Living Water trip coordinator will book your

airfare from the nearest major airport for a flight to Houston where the group will meet

before taking the international flight to Honduras.   

 

Students missing class time will be responsible for reporting the trip dates in advance to instructors and making necessary academic accommodations for the trip.

 

What will trip activities include?

 

Activities will include the following:

     - experience in building community partnerships

     - experience in outreach, education and partner engagement

     - an innovative, in-country experience in Honduras

     - experience in community building, collaborative projects, and social interaction in Honduras with the community being served

     - insights into nonprofit operations in a global environment

     - onsite discussion, reflection and applications of hygiene material

     - daily reflection time

 

I don't speak Spanish very well, will this diminish my experience with the community we're helping?

 

You are certainly encouraged to learn some traveling Spanish. However, you do not need to be fluent. The nonprofit partner, Living Water International (LWI), will have field staff with us on the trip, and they are willing to translate when they are not busy with required duties.
